These next two links are rather old information, but still very interesting to read. These people have very strong understanding of the underlying math behind Damage Over Time (or DoT for short) which is a complicated, but useful concept. I think they're worth reading.

Silvadel's Weapon Guide <--this is still accurate for maces, axes, swords and such (just not dirks/staffs/UA's) and is very VERY interesting if you want to know 'is this axe/sword/mace/spear/etc. good enough to keep')
